El proofreading es un servicio dentro de la rama de las traducciones de texto donde además de tener en cuenta la ortografía y la gramática del texto original se comprueba la coherencia, la fluidez y el formato del mismo. El objetivo principal del proofreading es asegurarse de que el texto posea una concordancia y sea lo más fiel posible al texto original o idea del mismo antes de publicarse.
Diferencias entre proofreading, revisión y edición
Revisión
Consiste en revisar que no haya errores gramaticales. Es un primer paso básico.
Proofreading
Se caracteriza porque además de la revisión, se revisa el formato, estilo, gramática y cohesión.
Edición
En la edición, se pueden realizar o sugerir cambios al texto original como ser: modificar el orden, añadir o eliminar nuevas secciones o incluso dar otro enfoque parcial o total.
